Early Life and Beginnings:

Mahendra Singh Dhoni,He was born in a Hindu Rajput family in Ranchi (now in – Jharkhand). He is the youngest of three siblings, born to parents originally from Uttarakhand. His native village Lwali is located in Almora district of Uttarakhand. The Dhoni family later shifted to Ranchi, Jharkhand. Where his father worked as a pump operator in a junior management position in MECON Colony.

Dhoni’s cricketing journey began with a change of fortune. Initially, he served as a goalkeeper for his school’s football team at DAV Jawahar Vidya Mandir. However, it was his exceptional goalkeeping skills that caught the attention of coach Keshav Ranjan Banerjee, who inspired Dhoni to pursue a career in cricket. His prowess as a wicketkeeper earned him a place at the Commando Cricket Club (1995–1998), where he honed his cricketing skills. His talent blossomed, leading to his selection for the 1997/98 season Vinu Mankad Trophy Under-16 Championship.

Before starting his international cricket journey. Dhoni worked as a Traveling Ticket Examiner (TTE) at Kharagpur Railway Station under South Eastern Railway, Midnapore (West), West Bengal from 2001 to 2003.
